Keera Blacksmiths Shop
The Building was originally erected from split slabs of Dwellings at Keera 1830 - 1840 by Allen Macpherson. A small room at the end of the shop was the Farriers living area. The Building was donated by the “Munro Family” and was moved to the Village by the Macintyre Lions Club and reconstructed on 224 November 1980.
The shop is equipped with bellows and forge, anvil and tools. The bellows are well over 100 years old and were donated to the Village by Mr J Gray of Elsmore. While the horse reigned supreme as a means of transport the blacksmith performed invaluable services in shoeing.
